Board Certification

Most physicians and all surgeons at Meadows Health are board certified.

What does board certified mean?

A physician must go through a rigorous process of testing and peer evaluation that starts with several years in supervised, on-site training, often referred to as residency. Many specialists spend half a decade or more in this training, which begins after medical school.

To become board certified, physicians must additionally demonstrate expertise in a specific medical specialty by passing  intense exams  ̶  many of which must be renewed on a regular basis  ̶  and other requirements of an ABMS Member Board.

Why does it matter?

Your doctor's board certification demonstrates exceptional expertise, providing assurance that you and your loved ones are receiving the best treatments possible from a highly qualified practitioner.
